Wet Paint! Petite Liminal Space Party!

An 8x10 canvas board can be a paradox. It’s a simple and small space to work with. Yet so challenging to present an expressive scene with a limited amount of brush strokes. The best works need to feel light, elegant, recognizable, ethereal yet at the same time effortless. The paradox is the amount of effort that goes in to each one.

This weekend I’ve challenged myself to paint local winter scenes from the past few weeks in petites. Liminal spaces. The results, to me, are mixed but I’ll leave it to you to pick out favorites.

These will be coming to the shop in late January once they have a chance to cure and receive proper framing.
