Commercial Alley #1

from $5.00

First project in a series of scenes in Portsmouth’s commercial alley nights. This series draws inspiration from liminal spaces and Van Gogh’s cafe terrace color palette. The theme involves an electrically bright night scene with detail dedicated to every brick and window. The projected feeling is a lonely empty yet vibrant and curious world, almost like a window into a serene colorful nook inviting you to explore at least with your imagination.

As with all pieces in this series this is orange underpainting, 2” thick unframed canvas with edges painted with a “wrap-around”. These are designed to remain without frames. They glow in the dark and with a 30W×40H size they make quite a presence in person.
