7 Eleven

Another work in the study of the magic of liminal spaces. This time the focus is on a 7-Eleven convenience store in an unremarkable location which I wont mention because the actual place contributes no meaning to a place which could be anywhere in America.

Does this represent an oasis in the darkness? Does it represent a bright and shiny quiet moment of despair? It’s in the eyes of the observer to take it as they will.

This is a 40Wx16H 2” deep canvas. Unframed with pink edges and pink underpainting. As with most of these works my intent is to deliver something which glows in the dark without any special ingredients
